In this role you will manage client relationships and internal account teams, oversee workflow and processes for PR & External Affairs, lead strategic planning, work on and oversee tactical execution, manage brand planning and business development, and manage the budgeting and accounting process. As an Account Director you will be expected to start your leadership journey, taking on people management responsibilities and sitting on our Operational Committee. We are recruiting for an Account Director to support the continued growth of our Policy work. As well as working with fellow policy SMEs across Europe and the US, you will collaborate across Syneos Health Communications Europe to build our innovative offering and provide expert counsel to clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide counsel and strategy for healthcare policy communications clients and across the Value, Access and Reputation offering
- Provide clear management and ownership of projects and work to coach peers and junior members of the team in healthcare policy communications
- Provide day to day strategic health policy advice and strategic counsel to Snr Leaders internally and across Syneos business units
- Deliver quality client-service; ensuring work is of an excellent standard in order to meet/exceed client expectations
- Translate client business needs into communications and stakeholder engagement action steps with solution-oriented focus
- Be responsible for budget management on accounts and keep abreast of budget issues; always ensuring account profitability
- Help support, mentor and motivate staff members; always leading by example
- Actively participate in new business development, presentations and proposals; identifying any prospects
- Contribute to the management of the PR and External Affairs team
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level
- Health public affairs / health policy experience, including strong policy analysis skills
- Experience working at a regional and global level in healthcare policy / public affairs or government affairs / patient advocacy / policy communications
- Extensive healthcare policy / public affairs experience with progressive job responsibilities
- Agency experience or the equivalent experience with an agency model / in house
- Demonstrated results in healthcare policy / public affairs work, client service and account leadership
- Strong understanding of how political and regulatory institutions (EMA, FDA, MHRA, NICE and other HTA bodies) work in Europe, UK and the US
- Strong willingness and confidence to interact with, challenge, and gain the trust of senior clients
