The PR teams handle the internal and external communications for pharmaceutical companies. Our PR Consultants interact with brand managers, product managers, marketing departments and specialist patient groups. Key responsibilities can include writing for internal publications, newsletters and the handling of communications.

The primary purpose of this role is to be an expert in client services and strategic PR/communications. You would be expected to lead accounts and help to drive high levels of satisfaction, as well as seeking out new business and organic growth opportunities as the main senior client point of contact. The focus of your role would be to oversee the smooth running of client service teams and to be accountable for supporting the PR leadership team in meeting business operations as well as the objectives of the clients strategically and financially. You would be seen as a key ambassador for the company and its values.

  • Client Services Management
    • Oversee management/delegation of tactical & administrative processes
    • Use strength of client relationships to secure agency business & ensure client satisfaction
    • Be an expert in client’s business
    • Build relationships beyond direct clients to expand business within PR and across Syneos business units
    • Maintain excellent levels of client service and instil within own account teams
    • Use knowledge of the sector, competitors, industry bodies and general trends to guide client thinking
    • Support team in identifying and addressing potential client issues
  • Product/Task Leadership & Accountability
    • Day to day senior lead on multiple accounts - taking the lead on strategic, creative and digital planning; oversee team on executions
    • Provide strategic guidance to team to enable successful execution
    • Identify & address potential issues and preempt solutions
    • Recognise wider agency cross-discipline opportunities and take larger role in new business opportunities
    • Responsible for supporting the PR leadership team with elements of the day-to-day business operations (finance, culture and client service)
    • Lead financial and resource management and delivery across account teams
    • Act as coaches for more junior members of the team
  • Business Management
    • Oversee client related financial & business operations for the team
    • Ensure account financial targets are met and are budget compliant
    • Anticipate and report on financial and resourcing or client issues
    • Apply sound business insight and judgement in the best interests of the agency and our clients
    • Play significant role in new business proposal development and presentations
    • Refine expertise in identifying and enabling organic growth opportunities and expandability to mine for new business prospects
    • Understand the commercial integration / lab to life offering and spot potential cross-working opportunities within existing accounts
    • Be the example for professionalism and resounding work ethic on the account team
    • Serve as the day to day champion of the brand, internally & externally
    • Create an environment that fosters idea sharing to achieve strategic goals
    • Take ownership in developing mid-level staff and teaching them how to be future leaders
    • Manage direct reports effectively by providing constructive, timely and actionable feedback

Degree educated, ideally within a related field. Strong communication skills (verbal & written) as well as presentation abilities. Ability to flex style according to the needs of clients and teams. Strong attention to detail & organisational abilities. Demonstrates and maintains up to date knowledge and capability in all main software packages including Microsoft Office. Exposure to Global accounts. Ability to balance strategic thinking with plan execution. Ability to be proactive & solutions focused. Detailed knowledge of pharma regulations (ABPI). Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively as well as managing upwards.
