Our teams build complex data management and software products used across the world, and as we continue to grow, we’re entering an exciting phase of our cloud journey. We’re now looking for a Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join us at a pivotal moment. This role includes participation in a compensated out‑of‑hours support rota, typically covering one week in every six.

About The Role
You’ll be part of our Cloud Network function, working on the design, build and ongoing development of our AWS network architecture. This role offers the chance to influence how we evolve our cloud infrastructure while also supporting and improving our existing on‑premise and cloud environments.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Designing, building and maintaining AWS network architecture.
- Managing inspection architecture and supporting network design for new cloud projects.
- Owning and resolving incidents within agreed timeframes.
- Implementing changes and improvements across our hybrid network and server infrastructure.
- Planning and delivering new services that support business projects.
- Supporting procurement of hardware and software.
- Identifying and escalating network security risks.
- Ensuring services remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose.
- Handling escalated technical issues and seeing them through to resolution.
What you’ll bring:
- Cisco certification (CCNA / CCNP)
- AWS Advanced Networking Specialty
- AWS Cloud Practitioner
- Cloud security certifications
- ITIL Foundation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to analyse, troubleshoot and solve complex issues
It would be an advantage if you have:
- Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code
- Automation skills using Terraform, Ansible or similar tools
To work for Synectics Solutions you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any exceptions to that clearance. Synectics Solutions will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of the work the business conducts, you must hold a UK nationality or meet the 5 year minimum residency criteria.
