As we modernise and scale, we are looking for a hands-on, driven Lawyer who wants to shape how legal supports a growing tech organisation. This isn’t a traditional legal role. It’s a chance to roll up your sleeves, influence strategy and help us move to modern and efficient legal operations. If you’re passionate about contracts, systems and business enablement, this is your opportunity to make your mark.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll become our internal expert for all day-to-day legal matters, with a strong focus on commercial work. Expect a blend of operational delivery and strategic input as we evolve our legal maturity.
- As a strategically minded legal professional, you’ll not only be supporting the business but truly shaping and scaling the legal function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Commercial & Contractual Work
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial contracts, including NDAs, MSAs, customer agreements, supplier contracts, DPAs and partnership arrangements.
- Providing clear, pragmatic advice to internal stakeholders at pace.
- Advising on contract risks, compliance obligations, and mitigating actions.
- Building Legal Operations
- Helping design and implement new legal processes and workflows.
- Supporting the transition from manual processes to more automated, tech-enabled systems.
- Working closely with our teams to enhance the use of technology in legal and commercial workflows.
- Introducing practical legal playbooks, templates, and self-serve tools to improve efficiency.
- Strategic Support
- Acting as a trusted business partner to senior leaders.
- Proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for legal uplift.
- Influencing how legal integrates with product, commercial, compliance, and operations.
What we’re looking for:
You’ll thrive here if you enjoy a balance of hands-on work and long-term thinking. We’re looking for someone with proven experience building or transforming legal operations within a high-growth, fast-paced B2B SaaS or technology business. If you have a track record of implementing contract lifecycle management (tools, workflow automation, or legal tech solutions), then you could be the driving force behind this transformation for Synectics Solutions.
Essential
- Qualified Lawyer (UK) with 5+ years post-qualification experience in commercial or corporate law with significant commercial contracts experience in a technology or SaaS environment.
- Experience negotiating complex enterprise customer agreements and data processing arrangements.
- Strong working knowledge of data protection (UK GDPR), information security considerations and regulatory frameworks.
- Evidence of operating as a strategic business partner to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to balance risk management with commercial pragmatism in a high-growth environment.
- Experience managing legal risk frameworks and contract governance processes.
- Comfortable managing a wide variety of legal queries independently.
- Experience embedding legal processes into commercial systems to drive efficiency, visibility and risk management.
- Proven ability to create scalable contract frameworks, playbooks and self-serve models that enable commercial teams to move at pace without increasing risk.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Compliance and Operations to support a data-driven environment.
Desirable
- Exposure to Salesforce or other workflow/CRM platforms.
- Experience supporting the implementation of contract management tools.
- Enjoyment of change, improvement projects and organisational evolution.
- Experience in regulated sectors (financial services, fraud prevention, data services).
- Experience supporting international contracting.
- Prior experience in a legal function in a scaling organisation.
- Exposure to compliance frameworks such as ISO standards or financial crime regulations.
- Experience of M&A.
