Synechron is looking for a Senior Performance & Non-Functional Testing Lead to shape and deliver testing strategy across a large-scale global IAM transformation programme. This role will focus on validating the scalability, resilience, availability, and operational readiness of complex cloud-based services, with particular emphasis on performance, load, stress, volume, failover, disaster recovery, and high availability testing.
You will work closely with engineering, architecture, DevOps, product, and support teams to embed non-functional testing into delivery pipelines and enable safe, scalable releases.
ROLE:- Own the end-to-end Performance & Non-Functional Testing capability across the programme.
- Define and maintain the testing strategy, roadmap, tooling, environments, and resourcing approach.
- Translate non-functional requirements into measurable test outcomes and coverage plans.
- Lead the execution of testing across load, stress, volume, resilience, failover, high availability, and disaster recovery scenarios.
- Analyse logs, profilers, and system metrics to identify bottlenecks and recommend remediation.
- Provide clear reporting on progress, risks, KPIs, defects, and release readiness.
- Integrate testing tools and reporting into CI/CD pipelines and quality frameworks.
- Mentor engineers and promote best practice, standards, and governance across testing.
- Experience testing IAM platforms within complex enterprise infrastructure.
- Proven experience delivering performance and non-functional testing in large, complex, global environments.
- Strong expertise in cloud-based testing, including containerised, serverless, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience defining programme-wide testing strategy covering scope, environments, tooling, risks, and resourcing.
- Hands-on knowledge of tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, Neo Load, or similar.
- Strong scripting/coding capability in languages such as Python, Java, Cypher, or Scala.
- Experience with database performance analysis, query optimisation, connection pooling, and monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of message queue performance, event-driven architecture, API testing, batch/ETL testing, and test data generation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to report clearly on status, risks, and issues.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing testing engineers.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, alerting, and operational acceptance testing.
- Knowledge of graph databases, including Neo4j and related tooling.
- Experience with APM/monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Datadog, or cloud-native monitoring suites.
- Understanding of Docker/Kubernetes performance considerations.
- Experience embedding testing into GitLab CI/CD and shift-left delivery practices.
- Exposure to DevSecOps, SaaS testing, and enterprise integrations.
