We are looking for a skilled Snowflake Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud data solutions that support enterprise analytics and reporting. The role focuses on data migration, data modelling, automation, and performance optimisation within the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data models in Snowflake to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Lead or support migration of legacy data platforms (e.g., Oracle) to Snowflake, ensuring data accuracy and business logic integrity.
- Convert and optimise SQL queries for Snowflake, improving performance and scalability.
- Design and implement dimensional data models (Star/Snowflake schemas) including Fact and Dimension tables.
- Develop and manage Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and stored procedures for automated data ingestion and transformations.
- Perform source-to-target data validation and reconciliation, including record counts, aggregates, and key business metrics.
- Implement and maintain INT-layer and semantic data models to standardise enterprise data for consistent reporting.
- Automate workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow and Git-based CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and repeatable deployments.
- Support UAT and business validation using Snowflake features such as Zero-Copy Cloning for rapid environment provisioning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders, to deliver trusted data solutions.
- Produce technical documentation, test cases, reconciliation reports, and audit artefacts to support governance and compliance.
- Provide BAU support, including incident resolution, performance tuning, and ongoing enhancements.
- Strong 5-10 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse.
- Advanced SQL and query optimisation skills.
- Experience with data modelling (dimensional modelling, star schema).
- Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
- Experience with Python for data engineering tasks.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and Git-based version control.
- Understanding of data quality, reconciliation, and validation practices.
- Experience in banking or financial services is an advantage.
