Synechron is looking for an experienced C++ Developer to join our fast-growing team in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. The role is working with a leading financial organisation on a long-term programme of work related to their global trading platform.
Role:
- Design and develop core trading infrastructure, including order routing gateways, market data feeds, and real-time risk systems
- Build scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant solutions for global trading operations
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into high-quality, production-ready code
- Own the full software development lifecycle—from architecture and implementation to deployment and support
- Continuously enhance system performance, reliability, and observability
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers (as needed), and contribute to engineering best practices
Experience:
- 3+ years of hands-on C++ development experience in Linux environments
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and network programming
- Proven experience with performance optimisation and low-latency system design
- Previous work on market data or exchange connectivity systems is highly desirable
- Collaborative, proactive mindset with excellent communication skills
