We are seeking a high-calibre DevOps Engineer to join a long-term, high-impact project embedded within one of the world’s leading Tier-1 International Investment Banks. This role is centered on "DevX" (Developer Experience), specifically evolving the Jenkins Shared Library that powers multi-language builds across one of the largest technology estates in the industry.

- Pay Rate: £440 per day (Inside IR35)

The Role
You will own and evolve the Jenkins Shared Library, focusing on delivering fast, secure, and provenance-rich pipelines that strengthen software supply-chain integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Engineering: Design and maintain Groovy pipeline steps for build, test, package, and deployment phases.
- Python Tooling: Extend Python scripts for SLSA provenance, SBOM generation, and security scan aggregation (SonarQube, SAST, etc.).
- Optimization: Enhance performance through parallel builds, caching, and dependency prefetching.
- Integrity & Security: Ensure artifact integrity via SHA-mapping and reproducible inputs while refactoring legacy scripts to modern standards.
- Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert for engineers on secure pipeline development and supply-chain practices.
Major Requirements:
We are looking for an engineer with an ownership mindset who can operate with minimal supervision.
Experience:
- 7+ years in engineering, with at least 3 years focused on CI/CD platforms or DevSecOps.
- Jenkins & Groovy: Expert-level knowledge of Jenkins Shared Libraries and Groovy.
- Python Mastery: Advanced Python automation skills, specifically for JSON/YAML processing and tooling scripts.
- Security & Compliance: Deep understanding of supply-chain security, including SLSA, CycloneDX SBOM, and digests.
- Tooling: Proficiency with SonarQube, Sonatype IQ, and container/SAST scanning.
- Packaging: Knowledge of Maven, NPM, Python packaging, and exposure to Helm/Terraform.
