The Financial Controller role is a key finance team hire and integral to the efficient, effective and profitable growth of Y Royalties. Managing both day-to-day finance matters as well as implementing robust financial processes and systems as the business scales, delivering financial reporting and analysis, and working closely with the Finance Director. We are seeking an experienced individual with the drive, technical and commercial skills to ensure Y Royalties creates a first class Finance Team – delivering excellent finance service to deadlines alongside great business partnering to achieve Y Royalties business growth and profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management and Reporting
- Annual Budgets and Forecasts (including business modelling with Finance Director)
- Statutory Financial Accounts (including Audit)
- Management Reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, P&L by function, Cash Flow, KPI’s)
- Revenue Cycle Reporting (WIP, Billing, Write off, Receivables)
- People Reporting (including timesheets, charge out rates, utilisation and KPI analysis)
- Management Presentations, Commercial Support and Analysis (pricing, budgets, models)
- Accounts Receivable (including credit control, invoice posting, CCH reconciliation)
- Accounts Payable (Invoice Postings, Credit cards, Debit cards, Disbursements, Expenses)
- Management accounts preparation (posting, working papers, journals)
- Treasury (payment runs, payroll, posting, bank reconciliations)
- Taxes (PAYE, NI, VAT, Corporation Tax)
- Systems (CCH all finance aspects – timesheets, WIP, Billing, disbursements, training)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a finance manager / financial controller
- Experience in professional services (accountancy practice, consulting firms or similar)
- Experience managing finance teams
- Entertainment / Music Industry exposure
- Self-motivated, pro-active, organised, problem solver, manage priorities and deadlines
- Strong finance, commercial and analytical mindset alongside attention to detail
- Excellent communications skills, with ability to explain finance to team, clients, 3rd parties
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Essential: Microsoft Office (Intermediate / Advanced Excel), Accounting (Sage / Xero and related expense (Pleo, Soldo), reporting (datarails)), Practice Software (CCH)
- Desirable: Business Intelligence software (tableau), Work management platforms (Monday)
