Senior / Lead Data Engineer
Synchro have partnered with an industry leading and well established organisation, who are investing heavily in their data & platform strategy. We are now hiring for a Senior / Lead Data Engineer to help shape and build that future.
This is a critical hire in a period of significant transformation for this organisation. This organisation has undergone major technical changes and are currently rolling out a new, large-scale system / platform to support help drive forward their evolving business. You’ll be a key and senior voice in defining how that rebuild takes place, including the technology and tooling chosen, and will modernise the existing data infrastructure, working closely with both UK and wider global teams.
In this role, you will advise, lead and define the rebuild of an existing data platform, guiding the design, architecture, and development of a scalable, modern solution. Further to this, you’ll be trusted to advise and influence further future technology decisions.
Partnering with product, technology, and leadership teams, you will embed and help embrace AI and algorithmic thinking into the data strategy and wider business thinking.
A large part of this will also be around driving reporting and insights, improving self-service analytics, reporting and dashboarding functionality across the business.
This role will be predominantly remote, with monthly meetup\’s (once per month) with the Technology team in Birmingham.
What’s required:
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Engineer in a complex, fast-changing environment.
- Strong understanding of Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric. Experience with Looker and Big Query is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Redshift and Apache Iceberg is also nice-to-have.
Role Summary:
Role: Senior / Lead Data Engineer
Location: Predominantly remote, with occasional meetups with the team in Birmingham.
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + excellent benefits including an impressive non-contributory pension.
