Synchro have partnered with a large and very well-known bank / financial services organisation and we are hiring for an experienced and talented Lead Backend Engineer. There are numerous roles on offer here, with positions across Senior, Lead or Principal / Director level, all whilst remaining hands-on and close to the detail & code.

Working across a portfolio of banking products, and a pipeline of critical and important organisation wide projects, this role requires an experienced Lead engineer who has delivered code into production. You will be a critical thinker and expert problem solver who owns every piece of what they do. You will have a broad skillset, with experience of Java, Kotlin, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes as well as GCP or AWS. This organisation is based in London, and this role will be based predominantly onsite, however a flexible approach to hybrid / remote working is on offer.

Required Expertise
  • Strong background in backend Engineering, with experience of Java and / or Kotlin
  • Demonstrable senior, lead or principal level exposure
  • Cloud experience - Ideally GCP or AWS.
  • A real team player, with strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management is also a must.

  • Location: London, Onsite, with flexible working
  • Salary / Package: £100,000 - £140,000 base salary plus attractive bonus and equity - there may be room for negotiation on the base salary for the right candidate.
