About the Role:
Our client are embarking on a digital transformation initiative and are looking for a Technical Lead to work closely with third party vendors. You will ensure seamless transitions of systems and data by ensuring that documentation and architecture can be incorporated long term into the organisation. Aspects of the transformation include replacing legacy systems, integrating new platforms, and establishing a robust Azure-based data platform. You will need to provide high-level technical assurance and architectural oversight across key integrations and system implementations.
This is a part-time advisory role (approx. 2 days per week) focused on guiding design decisions, challenging vendor proposals, and ensuring alignment with the company's long-term IT strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical design assurance for the programme.
- Validate and challenge 3rd party vendor solution designs and integration approaches.
- Chair and present at Technical Design Authority (TDA) forums.
- Ensure solutions are well-documented, technically sound, and aligned with long-term IT strategy.
- Oversee integration between new platforms.
- Support governance processes and identify technical risks early.
- Contribute to building a scalable Azure-based data platform.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead on large-scale system integration or data platform projects.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and cloud-first architectures (especially Microsoft Azure).
- Experience working in advisory capacities alongside internal teams and external vendors.
- Confidence in leading technical forums and ensuring rigorous documentation and governance processes.
- Ability to critically assess vendor technical designs and challenge constructively.
- Background in health or care sector advantageous but not essential.
