Overview:
Our end client are recruiting for a Backup/Storage Engineer with strong expertise in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Splunk to join an enterprise project team on-site in London. The engagement is part-time (2 days/week) for an initial period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension depending on project needs. The engineer will work alongside the project team and report directly to the Project Manager, with visibility from senior leadership including the CISO, CTO, and Head of Technology. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in backup/storage solutions and enterprise-level DLP tools, who can hit the ground running with minimal onboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site support as a DLP Engineer for an enterprise security and infrastructure project.
- Conduct Splunk health checks, ensuring log source integration and monitoring are fully functional.
- Oversee and support storage/backup environments, including NetBackup, Google Backup, and IBM Storage.
- Assist with day-to-day DLP activities, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
- Collaborate with the internal project team and key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of project milestones.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Backup/Storage Engineer or similar role, ideally within enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk, particularly in log monitoring and source validation.
- Strong knowledge of DLP tools and their integration in hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise backup technologies including NetBackup, Google Backup, and IBM Storage.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Comfortable using collaboration tools such as Slack, Gmail, Dropbox.
- Exposure to tools such as BigID and Island is a plus.
- Self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision.
