We are building a curated music licensing platform connecting high-quality, unsigned and independent artists with commercial opportunities across film, television, advertising, gaming, and digital media. Our model sits between a self-serve licensing marketplace and a high-value sync business. On one side, we offer accessible, tiered licensing for creators and commercial users. On the other, we are expanding into bespoke, higher-value sync deals and direct buyer partnerships. Unlike traditional stock libraries, we focus on real artists and culturally relevant music, not volume-based catalogue licensing. We are now entering a critical growth phase; this role will help define how we scale revenue and compete in the sync ecosystem.
The Role: We are looking for a Head of Licensing. You will be building the revenue engine on top of an existing base. You will have the flexibility to shape:
- Outreach strategy
- Partnership approach
- Deal structures
What We Are Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience in sync or music licensing, or deep expertise in copyright law with a practical command of master rights and publishing frameworks
- Established network of relationships with music supervisors, agencies, brands, or commercial buyers
- Strong commercial track record of negotiating, closing, and monetizing licensing opportunities
- Highly adaptable and comfortable operating in an early-stage, build-phase environment
Compensation Structure: This is a performance-led role designed for long-term upside. Flexible structure: Overall package is negotiable based on experience, track record, and network.
- Monthly retainer - offered as a modest draw against commission during an initial 1-month probation period, with potential extension up to 3 months based on demonstrated performance, pipeline development, and commercial traction
- Commission on closed and collected deals - competitive percentage of all licensing fees you originate and successfully close
How to Apply: Send your CV/resume to info@sync-audio.com with a short note answering: One or two sync or licensing deals you have personally closed, including fee range. Your current network in the sync or licensing space.
