Most CTO roles come with a ceiling. This one doesn't. Synaxia Group has been retained to find a CTO for a fast‑scaling, multi‑entity financial services group — six integrated businesses, one technology function, and a leadership team that genuinely wants to move fast. This is a retained search, so if you're the right person, you'll know about it quickly. The group is already growing. The tech infrastructure needs to grow with it — and ahead of it.

You'll own the full technology strategy, from cloud architecture and automation to CRM, cybersecurity, and enterprise data. The brief is broad by design. They're not looking for someone to manage the status quo — they're looking for someone to shape what comes next.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Owning the technology roadmap across CRM, AI, customer engagement, and data — and making sure it's genuinely fit for a group of this complexity.
  • Driving automation that removes manual work at scale, not just at the edges.
  • Modernising digital platforms so the business can serve customers faster and cheaper.
  • Building and leading a team that delivers — in‑house and through partners.
  • Keeping the lights on when it matters: cybersecurity, DR, compliance, data protection.

What you'll bring:

  • CTO or VP Engineering experience, ideally in a regulated or fast‑moving environment.
  • Hands‑on credibility — comfortable talking architecture, security, and delivery, not just strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure, APIs, MongoDB, and SQL.
  • A track record with CRM platforms, digital customer systems, and business automation.
  • The ability to operate at exec level — commercial fluency alongside technical depth.
  • Experience navigating multi‑entity or high‑growth businesses.

What's in it for you:

  • £160,000 base plus equity.
  • Three days a week on‑site split across two Lancashire/Manchester locations.
  • A leadership team that funds good ideas rather than just approving them.
  • Leading technology strategy for one of the fastest growing businesses in the North West.

This is one of those roles that looks good on paper and turns out to be better in reality. If that sounds worth a conversation, apply now.
