Synapto Ventures, the specialized corporate finance boutique of the Gold Nest Capital Group, is seeking a high-caliber Transaction Lead to drive its global fundraising operations. Synapto Ventures supports life science innovators to reach their full potential by providing strategic financial guidance and fundraising services. The firm bridges the gap between groundbreaking life sciences startups and global private capital. Synapto Ventures is based in Singapore, the Netherlands, and Japan.
The Opportunity: Synapto Ventures is seeking a Transaction Lead responsible for identifying the next generation life science pioneers and orchestrating their fundraising efforts to bring their innovations to life. The Transaction Lead will act as a bridge between high-potential startups and a global network of investors. This is a performance-driven role designed for an entrepreneurial professional who thrives on autonomy.
Structure: Independent Contractual Basis (Non-exclusive/Project-based – Not Full Time Employee Position).
Location: remote; the Transaction Lead must be based in a region or country of interest to Synapto Ventures, namely Western Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, Japan, South-Korea, the United Arab Emirates.
Remuneration: competitive, performance-based compensation model consisting of:
- Fixed Origination Fees: for successful client onboarding.
- Success Fees: a percentage of the capital raised during successful fundraising campaigns.
Key Responsibilities: The Transaction Lead’s role is divided into two primary functions: Deal Origination and Investor Outreach Execution.
- Client Acquisition (Origination): Identify and scout high-growth life sciences startups (Biotech, Medtech, Digital Health, Life Science Tools & Services) globally that require Seed through Pre-IPO funding. Conduct initial screening and scientific/business assessment of prospective clients to ensure alignment with Synapto Ventures’ standards. Pitch Synapto Ventures’ services to executive teams, founders and shareholders. Convert prospects into signed mandates for capital raises.
- Investor Outreach Execution - On a per-project basis: Support Synapto Ventures’ Engine in defining and refining investment materials, including pitch decks, financial models, and strategic insights. Leverage its own network and approach suitable private investors in life sciences (VCs, Corporate VCs, Financial Institutions, Family Offices, High Net Worth Individuals). Lead the roadshow process, coordinating meetings between founders and investors. Manage the due diligence process for identified investors, acting as the primary liaison to ensure all queries are addressed and the process moves toward a timely close.
The Applicant’s Profile:
- Academic Background: MD or PhD in Pharmacy/Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Chemical Engineering or MSc (same fields) paired with an MBA.
- Professional Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience within the Life Sciences Venture Capital landscape or Healthcare Investment Banking. A proven track record of closed transactions or successful fundraising rounds in the life science sector.
- Skills & Network: An active, high-level network of life sciences investors and startup founders. Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder transactions. Self-starter with an owner mentality, comfortable working in a results-only environment.
- Business Entity: must operate a registered legal entity to engage services.
