Synapsys Solutions specialises in energy monitoring, data acquisition, and system integration for modern buildings. Our technology enables property owners, operators, and billing providers to collect accurate data from meters and building systems to support energy management, compliance, and tenant billing.

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our UK team, responsible for commissioning and integrating our in-house products with building systems across commercial and residential sites. The role involves working with BMS systems, utility meters, and network infrastructure to ensure accurate data capture and reliable communication to our energy monitoring and billing platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in BMS, metering, or controls integration who enjoys problem-solving and working both on-site and with remote technical teams.

Responsibilities
  • Commission and configure Synapsys products on customer sites.
  • Integrate our interfacing & datalogging solutions with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Configure and test M-Bus, Modbus, BACnet, and other communication protocols.
  • Integrate heat, electricity, water, and gas meters into monitoring systems.
  • Verify accurate data collection and transmission to energy monitoring and billing platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve communication and integration issues between devices and networks.
  • Work with project managers, technical support teams, and third-party contractors.
  • Provide commissioning reports and documentation following site visits.
  • Support remote troubleshooting and system optimisation where required.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience working with building controls or BMS systems.
  • Knowledge of metering systems and data logging.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as: Modbus, M-Bus, BACnet.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, routers, switches).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel to sites across the UK.
  • Experience with energy monitoring or billing platforms.
  • Electrical or controls engineering background.
  • Experience commissioning building energy systems.
