Government client requires Service Owners within either Platform & Infrastructure / Security & Identity / Service experience. to be accountable for the end-to-end quality, performance, benefits and outcomes of the service portfolio within the Programme.
Service Owner will manage their service(s) day-to-day, working within the vision, roadmap and priorities set by the Lead Service Owner, and will ensure user needs, operational requirements, security obligations and business outcomes are balanced throughout Discovery, Alpha and subsequent delivery phases.
You will work closely with Product Managers, User Researchers, Service Designers, Business Analysts, architects, commercial colleagues, suppliers and partner departments to help build a coherent service model rather than a collection of technology components.
- Proven experience as a Service Owner or Deputy Service Owner in HMG, public sector or a comparable regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of the GDS Service Standard and experience taking services through Discovery, Alpha, Beta and/or Live phases.
- Experience owning or shaping digital workplace, collaboration, productivity, end-user computing, knowledge-management or AI-enabled services (relevant to Service Experience applicants) or platform, infrastructure, security or identity services (relevant to Platform & Infrastructure / Security & Identity applicants).
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team spanning product, UCD, architecture, business analysis, suppliers and service management.
- Experience contributing to business cases, including cost modelling, benefits realisation, service transition and workforce planning.
- Sound governance, assurance and risk-management capability, including supporting service boards, reporting and senior decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and written communication skills, including contributing to board-ready papers and executive summaries.
Business Change Delivery
- Experience supporting business change in medium- to large-scale programmes, preferably in secure or complex government environments.
- Practical understanding of adoption, readiness and stakeholder-engagement disciplines.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders, operational teams and user communities across multiple departments.
- Experience facilitating workshops and structured engagement sessions.
Readiness, TOM & Operational Change
- Experience contributing to TOM development, organisational readiness assessments and user-journey design.
Communications & Materials Development
- Ability to prepare clear, engaging and concise communications, guides and briefing materials for diverse audiences.
- Experience working in SECRET-grade or similarly secure environments.
- Knowledge of cloud, air-gapped or classified collaboration platforms.
- Experience of SIAM, consortium, brokerage or multi-supplier operating models.
- Working understanding of ITIL 4 and integration with agile service delivery.
- Experience commissioning or acting on user research and service design evidence.
