The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced MS Purview IRM Architectto join a major cyber security and data protection transformation programme, working with aleading international investment bank in London.
This is a specialist architecture role focused on the design and implementation of Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Information Rights Management (IRM)capabilities, helping strengthen enterprise data protection, information governance and regulatory compliance.
You will work closely with Security, Compliance, Architecture, Infrastructure, Data Governance and Business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and effective information protection solutions across a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design and implementation of Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Information Rights Managementcapabilities.
- Define and configuresensitivity labels, encryption policies, data classification rules and access control models.
- Design enterpriselabel taxonomies, auto-labelling policies, protection templates and data handling controls.
- Assess existing information protection capabilities and definetarget-state architectures, implementation roadmaps and migration strategies.
- Provide subject matter expertise across IRM, DLP, data classification, sensitive information types and data lifecycle governance.
- Work closely with Security, Compliance, Legal, Data Governance, Infrastructure and Architectureteams.
- Supportpilot deployments, phased rollouts, testing, troubleshooting, user adoption and operational handover.
- Producearchitecture documentation, implementation runbooks, test plans and migration strategies.
- Ensure solutions align withsecurity standards, GDPR, privacy requirements and wider enterprise control frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughoutdesign, build, testing and deployment.
- Key Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview Information Protection / Information Rights Management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance technologies, including Exchange Online, Share Point Online, One Drive, Teams and Endpoint DLP.
- Experience designingsensitivity label taxonomies, classification frameworks, auto-labelling and protection policies.
- Strong understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data discovery, sensitive information types and data lifecycle management.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC and Privileged Access Management.
- Proven experience producing HLD/LLD documentation, implementation runbooks, test plans and migration strategies.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working acrosssecurity, compliance, governance and business teams.
- Experience supportingpilots, phased rollouts, user adoption, troubleshooting and policy optimisation.
- Ability to translate regulatory, privacy and business requirements intopractical technical information protection solutions.
- Experience withinbanking, financial services or another highly regulated environmentwould be highly desirable.
