Synapri are working with a leading Public Sector body to hire an SC Cleared Cyber Security Analyst on an initial 6-month contract with scope for extension. This role is an Inside IR35 contract position, operating on a hybrid work basis.

Our client are looking for people with experience in cybersecurity to serve as the first line of defence in our client\'s cybersecurity operations. The \"Front Door\" role involves monitoring and managing security systems, analysing threats, and ensuring that all entry points to our network are secure.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks through real-time monitoring and threat intelligence.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to enforce best practices in access control and identity management.
  • Conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments to strengthen our security posture.
  • Ensuring timely response to security incidents, documenting findings, and recommending preventive measures.

The key skills that will be required are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT-related role.
  • Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Strong knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, and access control mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or NIST.
  • Experience with incident response and forensic analysis.
