We are looking for a Product Designer to join our fully remote team and help shape the future of our healthcare products. Design is already an established part of how we build products. Our current Product Designer has played an important role in shaping our approach and, following their departure, we're looking for someone to build on that foundation to help us continue growing our capability, working closely with Product Managers and Engineers across the organisation. This role offers significant ownership and influence over how design evolves within the company.

Working closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers and customers, you will own and contribute to design activities from discovery through to delivery, ensuring we solve real user problems while supporting our business goals. Reporting to our Head of Development you'll help ensure customer needs and evidence are represented in product decisions. You will play a key role in understanding user needs, shaping product requirements, creating intuitive experiences and continuously improving our products through research, collaboration and iteration. You will also help evolve our design system and champion user-centred design across the organisation. Your work will help clinicians, care providers and healthcare organisations make better decisions using complex health data, improving the experience of both healthcare professionals and the people they support.

We welcome applications from experienced mid-level designers looking to take the next step in their career, as well as established senior designers and will support the right candidate in developing their strategic, research and leadership skills as our product organisation grows.

Responsibilities

In addition to the above, we are looking for an individual with experience designing digital products from discovery through to delivery. We are looking for an individual who can carry out these responsibilities:

  • Discovery: Plan and conduct user research to understand customer needs, behaviours and workflows. Synthesise research findings into actionable insights that inform product decisions and prioritisation.
  • Product: Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and stakeholders to define problems, prioritise opportunities and shape product direction. Build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to understand problems, refine requirements and validate solutions. Use AI tools appropriately to support research, ideation, prototyping and documentation, while applying critical thinking and judgement to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Design: Design end-to-end user journeys across complex healthcare workflows. Develop information architecture and interaction patterns for complex healthcare workflows. Communicate design decisions clearly and confidently, using research and evidence to explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Produce wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma. Contribute to and evolve the company’s design system. Design accessible experiences in line with WCAG guidelines.
  • Validation: Plan and facilitate usability testing. Measure success using qualitative feedback, product metrics and usability outcomes. Iterate designs based on evidence.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers to understand technical constraints, discuss implementation trade-offs and ensure designs are feasible and deliverable.
Desirable but not required:
  • Experience working in regulated healthcare environments
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability (FHIR, NHS standards)
  • Experience with front-end development (any of HTML, CSS, React, Vite, TypeScript)
  • Experience designing for data-rich applications
