We are seeking an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to join our growing Mechanical Building Services company operating across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and public sector projects throughout the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to play a key role within a fast-paced and expanding business delivering mechanical packages ranging from minor works through to large-scale contracts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role will involve managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee mechanical building services projects from award to completion
- Manage project programmes, labour resources, and subcontractors
- Attend client, site, and progress meetings
- Monitor commercial performance alongside the commercial team
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical submissions
- Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements and company procedures
- Prepare and review RAMS and project documentation
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
- Support project delivery teams to achieve programme milestones
- Manage commissioning, snagging, and handover processes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business
- Background: Time-served (e.g., plumbers, pipefitters) and/or educated via HNC/Degree in Building Services Engineering.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, public health services, ventilation.
- Commercial Awareness: Experience with standard construction contracts like NEC or JCT, including variations and cost control
- Previous experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Site Manager within Mechanical Building Services
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
