We are looking for a proactive and reliable individual with excellent communication skills to take on the role of Clerk to the Governors. You can apply to work at one or more of our fantastic Leicestershire and Northamptonshire based schools:

As Clerk to the Governors, you will play a vital role in supporting our Governors to comply with statutory requirements and best practices. Your work will ensure that Governors’ meetings run smoothly, agendas and relevant documents are prepared in advance. During meetings, you will take accurate minutes and keep discussions on track. Outside of meetings, you will provide administrative support, maintain governance records and develop a strong working knowledge of governance rules and procedures to assist Governors with any queries.
Governance is essential in schools to ensure strong leadership, accountability and high educational standards. School governors provide strategic direction, oversee financial management and hold the leadership team accountable for delivering the best possible education for all pupils within an inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
No experience in governance? You don’t need prior governance experience to apply. The Trust will provide full governance training and support for suitable candidates, making this a fantastic opportunity for those looking for a career change or to gain valuable experience in school governance.
Meetings are generally held in the evenings or after school, and in most cases, you will be expected to attend in person. In some instances, virtual attendance via Microsoft Teams may be possible at the discretion of the Chair of Governors or Headteacher. Outside of meetings, this is a flexible, home-based role, allowing you to manage your workload efficiently around other commitments. The role is part time, permanent and term time only. The schools hold between 5 and 6 Full LGB meetings per year. Some schools may require additional clerking for sub committees.
