Symphony Healthcare Services have an exceptional opportunity for enthusiastic GPs to work at Symphony North – covering Burnham, Berrow and Highbridge medical centres in Somerset. These dynamic and forward‑thinking centres are supported by a multi‑disciplinary team that values innovation and collaboration. There are up to 12 sessions available and full‑time, part‑time and job‑share opportunities will be considered – please state your preference when you apply. Permanent or fixed‑term (12 months) contracts are also an option. A special interest in a particular area of healthcare would be an advantage, but a willingness to share the load and work with our dedicated colleagues is a must. Symphony welcomes and supports newly qualified GPs by providing a GP Mentorship Scheme and supporting the NHS GP Fellowship Scheme so you can hit the ground running. Our transport links are great – the M5, Bristol Airport and train routes to London mean that Burnham‑on‑Sea is very conveniently located.
Main Duties
As a Symphony GP you would undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care, without the responsibilities and risks associated with being a partner. We can offer opportunities from salaried through to employed level GP posts depending on your experience and the level of responsibility you take on at the practice. All GPs working for us are paid as employees, unlike partners, which means less risk for you and more time to focus on patient care. We put patients first, with our GPs working flexibly according to need, contributing to QOF, QI, training and research projects and providing a huge amount of variety to the role. Less experienced GPs have a clearly defined job plan setting out hours, responsibility and tasks that are associated with the role. Through annual appraisal we encourage career development and progression and are keen to support GPs who wish to extend their role, or have specialist skills that can be utilised in primary care.
