Symphony Healthcare Services (SFT subsidiary) invites applications for a Practice Nurse at Bruton Surgery, Bruton, and Wincanton Health Centre, Wincanton, Somerset. Both practices are part of the Rural Primary Care Network.

Position Details

  • Contract: Permanent, part‑time.
  • Pay: £17.40 – £22.17 per hour (start based on experience).
  • Hours: 20 hours/week, flexible, to be discussed at interview.
  • Pension: Option to join NHS or NEST scheme.
  • Location: Bruton Surgery – Patwell Lane, Bruton, BA100EG; and Wincanton Health Centre, Wincanton.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care within the practice and the home environment, ensuring optimum care for the practice population.
  • Collaborate with the general practice team to meet patient needs, support delivery of policies and procedures, and provide nurse leadership as required.
  • Offer nursing clinics, including vaccinations, immunisations, dressings, and management of chronic diseases (Diabetes, asthma, COPD).
  • Implement recall systems and record data accurately using the practice computer system.
  • Contribute to policy development, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Assist in implementing new initiatives for chronic disease management and integrated services.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate health promotion programmes and individual treatment plans.
  • Provide information and advice on medication regimens, side effects, and interactions.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse.
  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills.
  • Understanding of current nursing and NHS issues.

Desirable

  • Post‑registration study related to general practice.
  • Experience in a general practice setting.
  • Knowledge of EMIS or other GP clinical system.
  • Basic or advanced life‑support certificate.
  • Mentorship training experience.
