Symphony Healthcare Services has a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Operations / Practice Manager to work across 2 GP practices in Somerset - Hamdon Medical Centre in Stoke-sub-Hamdon and Crewkerne Health Centre. The role is a permanent, full time opportunity, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. The rate of pay is £16.09 to £18.38 per hour and the starting salary will be offered based on previous experience.

Main duties of the job:

  • You will support the Operations / Practice Manager of both sites to enable the practices to meet agreed aims and objectives within a profitable, efficient, safe and effective working environment.
  • You will also be responsible for the leadership for all operational functions delivered by the administration staff and oversee the smooth and effective running of the Patient Services Advisors within the two practices.
  • In addition, you will also be required to work closely with the medical and nursing teams, to ensure the safe and effective staffing of both sites.
  • You will be an integral part of both teams and this will be an exciting and rewarding role to undertake.

Person Specification:

Experience:

  • Previous management or supervisory experience
  • Experience of implementing / managing administrative services
  • Experience of inducting, training, appraisal and supporting staff
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Supervisory / Management experience within general practice or other NHS roles

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities in a changing working environment
  • Willingness to work flexibly as necessary
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A logical approach to problem solving
  • Understanding of the importance of high standards of medical care
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Willingness to work across dual sites
  • Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of the Symphony programme

Qualifications:

  • English and Maths GCSE (A* - C) or equivalent
  • Formal leadership or management training/qualification

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£16.09 to £18.38 a year - starting salary will be offered based on previous experience.
