Symphony Healthcare Services have an exceptional opportunity for enthusiastic GPs to work at Symphony North - which covers Burnham, Berrow and Highbridge medical centres in Somerset. These centres are dynamic and forward-thinking with supportive, multi-disciplinary teams behind them. We have up to 12 sessions available and full-time, part-time and job share opportunities will be considered - please state your preference when you apply. We will also consider permanent or fixed term (12 months) contracts. A special interest in a particular area of healthcare would be an advantage, but a willingness to share the load and work with our dedicated colleagues is a must.
Symphony welcomes and supports newly qualified GPs by providing a GP Mentorship Scheme and supporting the NHS GP Fellowship Scheme so that you hit the ground running. Our transport links are great too - the M5, Bristol Airport and train routes to London mean that Burnham-on-Sea is very conveniently located.
Main duties of the job
As a Symphony GP, you would undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care, without the responsibilities and risks associated with being a partner. We can offer opportunities from salaried through to employed level GP posts depending on your experience and the level of responsibility you take on at the practice. All GPs working for us are paid as Employees, unlike Partners, which means less risk for you and more time to focus on patient care. We put patients first, with our GPs working flexibly according to need, contributing to areas such as QOF, QI, training and research projects providing a huge amount of variety to the role. However, our less experienced GPs have a clearly defined job plan setting out the hours of work and responsibility and tasks associated with the role. Through annual appraisal, we encourage career development and progression and are keen to support GPs who wish to extend their role, or have specialist skills which can be utilised in primary care.
