Role description: As a Software Developer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced development team and contribute to real-world projects that impact our clients and users.
Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer Intern to join Symphony Media software development team. This internship is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in software development, allowing you to apply your classroom knowledge to practical scenarios. The team has built the core of Audio and Video communication in the Symphony app using WebRTC. We are a team of 15+ developers that work with media and web services. As a member of our Media team you will take ownership of a project core to our mission, allowing you to see your work make a direct impact on our users. For example, past intern projects have involved building tools to analyze call data and developing models to predict a user’s call quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
- Write well-documented and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Assist in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects and issues.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and offer creative ideas for software solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and programming languages.
- Learn and work with relevant tools, frameworks, and development methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Media Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with JavaScript/NodeJS, Java, and/or C++ programming language.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems and command line.
- Preferred high-level knowledge of how WebRTC works: main interfaces, ICE, SDP etc.
- Preferred GIT, Jenkins, JIRA.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn.
