Field-based | Northern Ireland | Industrial Wood Coatings
The opportunity
A successful UK industrial wood coatings business is expanding into Ireland and needs an entrepreneurial Regional Business Manager to build the market from the ground up. This is a genuine new-territory role — minimal existing business, high autonomy, and real commercial ownership.
You’ll represent a strong portfolio of lacquers, paints, primers and stains, selling to kitchen manufacturers, furniture makers, joinery companies, flooring businesses and other timber product manufacturers.
What you’ll do
- Own business development across the whole of Ireland
- Identify, prospect and win new customers across the industrial wood coatings market
- Build and convert a strong pipeline, developing long-term customer relationships
- Engage with business owners, purchasing teams, production managers and technical decision-makers
- Match customers' coating requirements to the right products and solutions
- Carry out customer visits, product presentations, demonstrations and trials
- Collaborate with the internal technical team during evaluations and trials
- Manage accounts from first contact through to conversion and ongoing growth
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales reporting
Who we’re looking for
We’re open-minded about background. Experience in industrial wood coatings is an advantage but not essential — we’re equally interested in people who know the products from a technical or end-user perspective and have the commercial drive to win business.
You may come from:
- Sales within coatings, paints, chemicals or a related technical B2B environment
- A technical role within a kitchen, furniture, joinery or timber manufacturing business
- The woodworking or manufacturing sector, with strong commercial instincts and a desire to move into sales
In all cases, we’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, builds trust naturally, is comfortable working autonomously, and has the confidence to open doors in a new market. A full driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Ireland daily are essential.
