The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 € per hour.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our small friendly team on a part time basis (2 days per week). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience, preferably in a primary care/GP setting. You must be fully phlebotomy trained.

Main duties of the job include undertaking all aspects of HCA work within a GP surgery, including supporting the GPs and Practice Nurses.

About us: Symonds Green Health Centre is a small, friendly practice with around 7800 patients and a clinical team consisting of 4 GP Partners, a Clinical Pharmacist, 4 Practice Nurses, and a Health Care Assistant. Our mission is to deliver outstanding, compassionate medical services by focusing on patient care management, preventative medicine, and holistic, high-quality care. We aim to create a safe, trusting, and honest environment while utilising teamwork to support the health and well-being of our patients.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Phlebotomy – Taking blood tests
  • Undertake basic Observations – Recording blood pressure, height, weight, temperature and pulse and highlight any concerns to the GP/Practice nurse
  • Completing NHS Health Checks
  • Completing Long term condition reviews
  • Undertake ECGs as and when required including urgent ECGs as per a clinician's request
  • Be confident in discussing lifestyle factors, answering patient queries; supporting initiatives such as Smoking Cessation and Weight Management.
  • Administer vaccinations
