This role is for engineers who want to work on real, design-led maritime engineering rather than paper exercises. You will be designing and delivering complex subsea and maritime systems where pressure, structure, lifting, fabrication and deployment genuinely matter.

This is hands-on engineering where judgement, first-principles thinking and experience still count, and where you will see your designs move from CAD to workshop and into the real world.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will own mechanical design for complex maritime and subsea systems, solving real engineering problems involving pressure, structure, fatigue and manufacture.
  • You will design components and assemblies that are built, tested and deployed, support heavy lifting, handling and installation activities, apply first-principles calculations alongside modern analysis tools, and work closely with naval architects, fabricators and shipyards to deliver safe, buildable solutions.

What We’re Looking For

  • You will be eligible to obtain UK SC security clearance, have strong maritime or subsea mechanical design experience.
  • You will bring hands-on build and fabrication exposure, strong numerical capability with first-principles calculations, experience supporting heavy lifting or marine handling operations, advanced 3D CAD capability from concept through to production, experience working to pressure vessel and structural design codes, proven FEA experience (linear and/or non-linear), and the ability to mentor other engineers at a technical level.
