Are you an experienced ER professional with the confidence to handle complex cases and guide managers through challenging situations? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced People Advisor to join our customer’s team and make a real impact!

In this fast-paced role, you will manage a caseload of around 20 employee relations cases each week, with a particular focus on absence management, disciplinaries, and performance issues. You will work closely with managers to provide practical, hands-on support, helping them navigate difficult HR situations while ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.

What you will bring:

  • Proven ER expertise with significant experience in handling a high volume of complex employee relations cases, including sickness absence, disciplinaries, grievances, and investigations.
  • Confidence in managing difficult conversations, using your communication skills to guide managers through challenging situations and ensure effective decision-making.
  • Autonomous work style, with a track record of independently managing casework through to successful resolution, while balancing a high caseload.
  • Coaching and advisory skills to empower managers, offering practical, proactive support that drives performance improvement and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR processes, policies, and employment law, with a commitment to keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build trusted relationships with managers across the business, providing tailored ER advice and practical solutions for complex, high-risk, and sensitive cases.
  • Proactively manage sickness absence cases, identifying trends and addressing long-term issues in partnership with Occupational Health when required.
  • Provide expert advice and support on disciplinary processes, grievances, investigations, and performance management plans.
  • Advise managers through challenging employee relations situations, offering guidance and solutions to ensure legal compliance and fairness.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure HR best practices are followed and cases are resolved efficiently while maintaining a supportive and inclusive workplace.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the delivery of ER services, working alongside the Head of People Operations to enhance overall HR processes.
