Already experienced working within a high-volume, fast-paced HR Shared Services environment and looking to build on that experience as part of a growing HR operations hub? Syme Drummond is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a global leader in advanced materials and photonics, as they establish a new HR Shared Services hub in Glasgow.

This role sits within a busy HR Operations team and offers an excellent opportunity to develop your shared services experience within a global environment. Working as part of a structured HR Operations function, you will deliver efficient, accurate HR support across multiple regions and contribute to continuous improvement as the hub continues to grow. While this is a globally aligned role, the key requirement is experience operating effectively within a fast-paced shared services model.

What you’ll get involved in:

  • Managing incoming employee queries through the HR case management system
  • Delivering day-to-day HR transactions, including contracts, onboarding, and data changes
  • Maintaining data accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail across HR systems
  • Supporting process improvements and standardisation as the shared services function develops
  • Collaborating with Payroll, Benefits, and Centres of Excellence to ensure smooth service delivery

Experience requirements:

We are keen to speak with applicants who have solid HR Operations or HR Shared Services experience, gained within a high-volume, fast-paced ideally, global environment. Experience supporting international teams is advantageous, but the priority is strong shared services fundamentals, attention to detail, and confidence handling employee queries in a structured operational setting.
