Are you already operating confidently at HR Business Partner level?
Do you love variety, enjoy being close to the action, and take pride in making a real difference to people and business outcomes?
Syme Drummond is delighted to be partnering with a business with global reach to recruit an exceptional HR Business Partner for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Kilmarnock, with hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 from home).
This is not a step-up role – we’re looking for someone already operating confidently at HRBP level who can hit the ground running.
This isn’t your average HR post. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with operational leaders across the business, supporting around 180 employees and helping shape and execute impactful people strategies. From employee engagement to talent planning, from ER advice to performance and reward, you’ll be embedded in the business and fully empowered to make a difference. You’ll enjoy the rhythm of cyclical HR activity, but you\’re equally energised by the variety that comes with ad-hoc projects. If you\’re someone who can balance the day-to-day while keeping an eye on the bigger picture, this could be the perfect next step.
You\’ll be involved in:
Delivering people plans aligned with business priorities
Supporting leadership teams through projects and organisational change
Driving HR initiatives across the full employee lifecycle
Using data and insights to influence and guide
Coaching managers and creating pragmatic, people-first solutions
You\’ll be part of a passionate, collaborative HR team that values visibility, proactivity, and authenticity. You’ll be supported – but also given the space to lead and own your area.
Why You?
You\’re already a seasoned HR Business Partner with:
    Proven experience in fast-moving environments
Strong strategic and operational HR knowledge
The confidence to influence and challenge stakeholders
A love for rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in
A solutions-focused mindset and commercial savvy
A natural flair for building trust and rapport across all levels
Why Join?
This business isn’t just global in scale – it has a culture that punches well above its weight. It’s professional yet human, ambitious yet grounded, and deeply committed to its people. The office is genuinely impressive – modern, warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed with its employees in mind.
You\’ll be joining a team that’s supportive, down-to-earth, and full of energy. Everyone’s voice counts. Ideas are welcomed. And collaboration is second nature. And while this is a 12-month contract, there\’s real potential for it to become permanent for the right person.
