Job Description

A fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller to work on a temp to perm basis for a high growth multi-site company. The role supports the business with accurate financial reporting, financial analysis and insight in order to make better decision making. This role should be for 6 months day rate then converting to a permanent post.

Accounting

  • Deliver accurate month end management accounts in line with the agreed timetable. Flag any areas that require discussion before completion.
  • Prepare and/or review Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Liquidity Reporting to Group. Identify any areas that need resolution in the Balance Sheet.
  • Prepare and/or review VAT returns, National Statistics forms and other reporting to government authorities
  • Liaison with Group about Accounting and Treasury matters
  • Prepare annual financial statutory statements from trial balance.
  • Manage the Statutory Audit and any other financial audit processes (day-today management at Audit Manager level)
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable & Expenses process – including oversight of AP inputs, processing and payment runs

FP&A

  • Provide financial support to the business to enable them to have deeper understanding of Finance matters so that they can make better decisions.
  • Prepare business cases, financial modelling and pros and cons narrative to support these discussions
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc internal reporting on business performance and cost centre control
  • Constructively challenge the business and provide solutions that lead to financial and operational improvements
  • Actively engage with the Marketing team to help them understand their spend and how to maximise effectiveness (timing/phasing, proposed spend against budget, return on investment)
  • Liaison with Group about Controlling matters
  • Key point of contact for capturing inputs for annual Plan and regular forecasting.
  • Owner of all Controlling deliverables
  • Owner of the MTP manufacturing costs that impact the UK products and its impact on Gross Profit (Interaction of Sales & MTP costs). Provide reporting and insight on the product margin on a periodic basis and provide input on MTP into any pricing recommendations

The Person

  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with demonstrable experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills and comfortable with data interrogation
  • PowerPoint skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience of working towards tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels
