Symbiotic Talent are partnering with a progressive and innovative large business in Edinburgh to identify a career focused newly qualified accountant. This role's purpose is to report on the financial performance of the business and ensure the statutory reporting requirements are met whilst maintaining careful management of the assets, liabilities and transactions through strong balance sheet control.

The Role

  • Responsible for the integrity of the Balance Sheet ensuring the production of monthly reporting and analysis on all aspects of the balance sheet and all reconciliations
  • Preparation of insightful financial commentary for input to the monthly board papers
  • Supporting the budget process in regard to balance sheet accounts and the P&L impact
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts in accordance with IAS
  • Dealing with the auditors at half year and year end
  • Be a point of contact for any technical accounting issues
  • Embedding internal controls within financial processes
  • Monthly VAT and annual corporation tax returns
  • Assist with treasury interest issues
  • Develop relationships and partner with other business areas to work together to achieve KPIs

The Person

  • A qualified accountant - CA or ACCA
  • Approachable and engaging
  • Experience in the preparation of statutory accounts and monthly balance sheet reconciliations

  • Happy to work office based 3 days a week (full time hours)
