A fantastic opportunity for a good ideas "change" person, who understands the fundamentals of finance and treasury, who is happy to get their sleeves rolled up without getting lost in the detail. Your collaborative approach, solid understanding of the importance of governance and your track record of project delivery will allow you to add value quickly.
This is an interim and mostly on-site (4 of 5) role within the Financial Control function, accountable for the design and delivery of treasury-related finance transformation ahead of a permanent Treasury & Banking Manager appointment. The role focuses on defining, structuring and delivering the changes required to enable a robust, well-governed Treasury & Banking function. It does not own treasury business-as-usual activities, but instead establishes the operating model, controls, documentation and delivery momentum that will be handed over into permanent ownership.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct a comprehensive review and evaluation of the existing treasury environment to develop and execute a well-defined treasury operating model.
- Define the target Treasury & Banking operating model in collaboration with Finance and other directly impacted teams.
- Deliver priority change initiatives required to move from current state to target state.
- Project manage treasury-related workstreams, including bank account rationalisation, cash visibility and the implementation of a governance framework.
- Design and document audit-ready treasury processes, controls and operating procedures.
- Lead the implementation of robust cash visibility processes and 13-week cashflow forecast modelling.
- Project manage the HSBC Direct Payment Collection implementation and the CASS 15 regulatory project, ensuring milestones are tracked and delivered on time.
- Prepare and execute a structured handover into a permanent Treasury & Banking Manager.
Who You Are
- Proven experience delivering finance transformation or change initiatives within Financial Services or regulated environments.
- Strong project management and delivery capability across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Solid understanding of treasury and finance fundamentals (cash, banking, controls, governance) without requiring deep technical specialism.
- Comfortable operating at middle-management level, influencing through collaboration rather than authority.
- This role does not require a qualified accountant or a career treasury manager, however experience within that field along with strong finance transformation experience would be advantageous.
What Success Looks Like
- At the end of the 6-month term we would expect to achieve the following:
- A clearly defined Treasury & Banking target operating model.
- Treasury change initiatives delivered or embedded.
- Improved cash visibility, governance and understanding of cash movements including a standardised 13-week rolling cash flow forecast.
- Audit-ready processes and documentation established.
- A smooth and effective handover into permanent treasury BAU ownership.
