We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Instruction Aide in Special Education at Elk Ridge. This part‑time position involves supporting students with diverse learning needs to help them achieve their educational goals. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering the growth and development of all students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Support students in academic tasks, including reading, writing, and math, while adapting materials as necessary.
  • Provide behavioral support and guidance to students, promoting positive social interactions and conflict resolution.
  • Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher, helping to adjust instructional strategies as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in education or related field preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

  • Proficiency in using technology and educational software to support learning.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
