General Summary: Assists in day-to-day operations of the school district by providing custodial services. Work schedule may vary based on scheduled projects and may include various hours due to weather conditions.
Primary Duties:
- Performs all custodial tasks including, but not limited to: dusting, sweeping, mopping, stripping and waxing of floors, carpet extraction, window cleaning, wall cleaning, trash removal, cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms and specialized educational equipment, room set-ups and assistance to outside groups, and exterior grounds cleaning as assigned.
- Cleans up accidental and/or bodily fluids spills as needed.
- Performs maintenance repair and improvement tasks including, but not limited to: painting, caulking, and light bulb changing.
- Deliver receivables to teachers and/or staff.
- Responsible for the sanitary condition of building facilities.
- Responsible for minor repairs of furniture.
- Responsible for safe storage of custodial materials and movement and storage of general building items.
- Responsible for proper use and care of custodial equipment.
- Provide security services by securing building exits and admitting individuals within school district policies.
- Represent school district in a professional manner during interactions with staff, external vendors and general public.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform physical labor required for custodial duties including long hours while standing, bending and lifting.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Possess good interpersonal skills in working with students, staff and general public.
- Previous work experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.

Ability to work using ladders, scaffolding, and mechanical lift. Ability to spend most of the work-day standing, lifting, pushing/pulling and walking. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavier materials using appropriate equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee is required to properly use such safety equipment as is appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or others. Ability to communicate in person, by radio, electronically and over the phone. Ability to use computer equipment to complete reports, generate service orders, maintain inventories, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. It may be expected that the individual could be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials or illnesses during the course of their duties. Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
Days/Hours: Year round; 4-8 hours/day (afternoon shift only).
Rate of Pay: TBD by experience: per ESP Contract.
