We are seeking a dedicated and reliable custodian to join our team at District. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facility, ensuring a welcoming environment for all staff and visitors. This full-time position requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing all areas of the facility.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies of soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, break rooms, and entryways.
- Assist with special cleaning projects, such as floor waxing, carpet cleaning, and window washing.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures while performing cleaning tasks.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying management when reordering is necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
