Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced eCommerce Manager (EMEA) to join our B2C team. The role is based in Europe, preferably in the UK, Germany, France, or Hungary, and requires a proven track record of developing and implementing successful eCommerce strategies across the EMEA region.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in:
- Amazon FBA and/or FBM operations, ideally across multiple markets
- Direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales via third-party marketplaces
- Launching and scaling B2C and B2B webshops
- Using data and analytics tools to drive traffic, optimise conversion, and increase sales through content and merchandising.
Key areas of focus include:
- Developing and executing business strategies for pure-play eCommerce and marketplaces platforms
- Strengthening digital growth and partnerships with brick-and-click retailers
- Leading the planning and implementation of a dedicated Sylvania eCommerce platform
- Delivering on the assigned eCommerce budget, expanding digital reach, and building scalable frameworks for long-term success

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and execution of Sylvania’s Amazon business across Europe by defining optimal go-to-market approaches, including market selection, fulfillment models (FBA/FBM), product portfolio, pricing architecture, and promotional plans.
- Drive growth and operational excellence across key online marketplaces, ensuring Sylvania’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) presence is commercially optimised and aligned with local market dynamics.
- Oversee the launch, operation, and ongoing performance of branded webshops (B2C/B2B) in European markets, selecting the appropriate commercial and operational model in each case.
- Ensure end-to-end operational readiness by aligning logistics, inventory, and finance functions with eCommerce requirements; lead the design an implementation of scalable infrastructure to support long-term growth.
- Collaborate with product management and planning teams to shape a portfolio strategy that reflects digital-specific needs, including new product introductions, lifecycle planning, and forecasting accuracy.
- Establish and embed eCommerce best practices across the business, ensuring effective budget management, continuous improvement, and alignment with commercial objectives.
- Act as the key interface between eCommerce and cross-functional stakeholders, including web development, marketing, IT, and creative teams, to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Define and track critical KPIs, generate regular performance reports, and use actionable insights to guide strategy and decision-making.
- Lead the development and execution of digital marketing initiatives, including SEO/SEM, PPC campaigns, and conversion optimisation strategies, to maximise traffic, engagement, and sales.
Person Specification and Background
- Masters or bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or eCommerce/digital marketing, Information Systems or a related field
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in marketing, eCommerce, or digital marketing
- Minimum 5 years working in a multinational, matrixed organization — ideally with cross-border responsibilities
- Proven track record of designing and executing successful eCommerce strategies in a product-driven industry
- Strong background in Amazon FBA/FBM and third-party marketplace management
- Practical experience managing middleware platforms such as Linnworks, PennyMarkets and others to optimise marketplace integration and operations
- Demonstrated success in launching and scaling B2C and B2B webshops
- Expertise in digital marketing, content strategy, and performance optimisation in the European markets
- Experience promoting connected (IoT/smart) products or services is highly desirable
- Strong balance of commercial and technical acumen
- Strategic thinker with excellent execution and project management skills
- Proven leadership in building and developing teams, driving change, and achieving results
- Self-starter mindset with a high sense of urgency and bias for action
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a direct and effective communication style
- Able to navigate complex, fast-paced environments with agility and confidence
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities with excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Experienced in business travel and working with culturally diverse teams
- Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus
