Sykes Timber is a sixth-generation, family-owned timber merchant established in 1862, supplying quality hardwoods and softwoods to customers throughout the UK.
We are currently experiencing a period of exceptional growth and are looking to strengthen our sales team with the appointment of a Sales Executive.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, well-established business at an important stage in its development, with genuine opportunities for personal and professional progression.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated, commercially minded individual to develop new business opportunities whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
The role will be predominantly based at our Atherstone headquarters in the Midlands, although we are open to discussing flexible arrangements for the right candidate. There will also be opportunities to visit customers and develop relationships across the UK.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new business and identifying sales opportunities.
- Managing and growing relationships with existing customers.
- Handling customer enquiries, quotations and orders.
- Working closely with our operations and purchasing teams.
- Visiting customers and developing new markets.
- Contributing to the continued growth of Sykes Timber.
About You
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in the timber industry, whether in hardwoods, softwoods, timber merchanting or associated sectors.
You should be commercially aware, confident in dealing with customers and motivated to develop business.
Experience within the timber trade would be highly advantageous, although we would consider candidates from related industries with a strong sales background.
