Job Details: Senior Financial Accountant (Forge Holiday Group)
We are thrilled to be seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join us on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract working across the Forge Holiday Group at our Chester HQ.
Key Responsibilities

- Identify, share, and spread best practices throughout the business, demonstrating excellent teamwork.
- Ensure all decisions are based on the achievement of the Group Strategic Pillars.
- Lead and pro-actively drive forward improvements to specific divisions/brands/region reporting and ensure a high standard of financial accounting controls within these areas.
- Implement improvements within specific divisions/regions through proactive business partnering and changes to ensure a high standard of financial accounting controls and reporting.
- Conduct regular reviews of group-wide processes (e.g., purchasing process, sales process), liaising with all stakeholders and implementing relevant changes.
- Implement both external and internal audit recommendations to ensure the finance department operates at its best.
- Maintain a fully documented group accounting policy manual and group accounting process manual for areas of responsibility.
- Ensure month-end and year-end processes are completed to a high standard, including a full review before passing to the Divisional Financial Controllers/Head of UK Group Finance.
- Provide board-standard commentary each month-end for areas of responsibility, including review of work performed by line reports.
- Ensure financial statements for divisions/regions are fully reviewed and completed under FRS101/IFRS to a high standard before submission to the Divisional Financial Controller/Head of UK Group Finance/external auditors.
- Timely provision of relevant information required for group consolidation to the Head of UK Group and Head of Group Financial Reporting.
- Manage and support line reports to a high standard, ensuring continual development and progression.
- Provide support and work alongside all other areas of finance, such as the Systems team, commercial team on budgeting and projects, and finance admin team on operational processes.
- Prepare technical accounting or project papers to a high standard for external auditors and/or senior management.
- Provide support and guidance to Divisional/Regional MDs and colleagues, ensuring processes and controls are aligned to head office standards.
- Support external and internal audit requirements for relevant areas of responsibility.
- Complete any relevant returns and other compliance requirements.
- Pro-actively think about how the finance department can adapt as it grows.
- Address any other ad-hoc requests as specified by the Financial Controller or Head of Group Finance.
The Senior Financial Accountant must have credible knowledge of the issues facing the business on a day-to-day basis and in the longer term. They should be able to pro-actively develop and improve business processes while maintaining the Group’s professional image. Clear communication between all parts of the business is essential, along with forward-looking anticipation of future challenges and opportunities, responding with effective planning.
