About the role
As a scientist within Cellular Pharmacology, you will play an essential role in supporting internal and client projects. You will work alongside a team of experienced scientists and will learn to evaluate and discover potential new drugs for a broad range of projects, molecular targets and therapeutic indications. In this role, you will provide cell biology project support, ensuring optimal maintenance of cell lines and supply for a range of cell-based assays. Please note that this is a full-time onsite position on a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
Role Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments with/without supervision, under relevant instruction to meet approved timelines and objectives.
- Analyse, interpret and communicate the outcome of experiments to the project leader and/or team.
- Checking availability and ordering of equipment.
- Support projects by developing professional interpersonal relationships within the team, working with others to meet team objectives, and providing practical help and assistance to others as appropriate.
- May contribute to publications and/or be part of presentations at external meetings.
- Develop experience and independence with scientific skills relevant to project assignment e.g. tissue culture, screening, principles of assay development.
Skills & Qualifications
- BSc/MSc in relevant discipline e.g. Biology or a related life science discipline.
- Industrial placement experience gained within a pharmaceutical company, Biotech, or CRO would be advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience of practical laboratory techniques.
- Cell culture experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team.
