About the role
Bioscientists at Sygnature Discovery play essential roles in supporting and leading integrated client projects as well as developing and delivering customised biological screening assays to drive structure-activity relationships for preclinical drug discovery campaigns. We are seeking bright Scientists who can help push the boundaries of our capabilities by contributing to the discovery of new drugs across a broad range of projects, molecular targets, and therapeutic indications. You should have recently completed a PhD in a relevant Biology-related discipline (e.g., Biochemistry, Enzymology, Biophysics, Cell Biology, Pharmacology) or have relevant industrial experience within a drug discovery environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Undertake training activities that will develop an understanding of biochemical, cellular, and biophysical screening techniques.
- Deploy to client projects, developing and delivering bespoke screening assays as required.
- Design and execute experiments independently.
- Identify and solve problems associated with own experiments and those of other team members when appropriate.
- Present scientific findings, interpretations, and recommendations to key project stakeholders.
- May take on a leadership role with significant level of technical and scientific supervision within Bioscience only projects.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ideally you will be close to submission or have a PhD in Pharmacology, Biochemistry or a related Biology-specific discipline.
- Relevant industry experience within a drug discovery environment will also be considered.
- A strong scientific track record with experience built within a drug discovery environment is highly desirable.
- A working knowledge of current trends in drug discovery.
- Ability to develop novel assays from first principles and interpret complex biological datasets.
- Aptitude for proactive troubleshooting and adoption of industry-leading practices for generation and analysis of robust scientific data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to present complex scientific ideas and datasets to key stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn new processes, interacting with state-of-the-art equipment and data analysis software.
