Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management
  • Collaborate to validate employee changes with the HR department.
  • Check employees have agreed to changes and contract variations, completed onboarding per local country requirements, or offboarding processes and are confirmed as compliant.
  • Co-ordinate the monthly payroll process across the EMEA entities and branches.
  • Work collaboratively with our external payroll providers to deliver the monthly payroll and optimise solutions to deliver the best outcome for the business.
  • Ensure adherence to tax laws, regulations, and company policies related to payroll.
  • Highlight where taxable benefits are applicable to costs.
  • Mobilise (and if required close) country payrolls in conjunction with the Finance Manager and Finance Director.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, KPI’s and financial documentation.
  • Translate employee and employer costs to journals for finance.
  • Oversee and conclude employee changes required in the time and attendance and finance system.
  • Work with finance and the business analyst to update PowerBI reports as needed.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management and assist with audits and regulatory reporting.
  • To reconcile monthly within the ERP system, the payroll accounting entries to payments of net pay, taxes, social security and pensions along with recovery of loans and advances and salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Be the subject matter expert for payroll, maintaining knowledge of internal and external developments.
  • To identify and complete training required.
  • Employee Support
    • Address employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits professionally and efficiently.
  • Process Improvement
    • Working with key stakeholders across the business, identify opportunities to optimise payroll processes.
    • Support the Commercial and Finance Directors to maintain policies relevant to payroll.
    • Support the Finance Director and Digital Innovation team to maximise the use of AI tools to streamline payroll processes whilst adhering to the EU AI act and other statutory requirements.
  • Expenses support
    • Support the finance department to deliver the payment of employee expenses, including adherence to country regulations for example per diem allowances.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, or a related field.
    • Professional certification (e.g. CIPP or AAT/ early stage ACCA or equivalent) preferred.
    • Proven experience in payroll accounting and working with EU payroll providers.
    • Proficiency with ERP software such as Microsoft Dynamics.
    • Knowledge of labour laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
