Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join our team covering Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.
Role Overview:
The Fire Alarm Installation Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and handover of fire detection and alarm systems across a range of commercial, industrial and public sector sites. You will ensure all installations are completed to the highest standards, in line with project specifications and relevant British Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install fire alarm systems in accordance with design specifications and current standards
- Commission and test newly installed fire alarm systems
- Complete system handovers and client demonstrations
- Diagnose and rectify installation faults during commissioning
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors and other site trades
- Complete installation documentation and commissioning certificates accurately
- Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards and Health & Safety regulations
- Maintain a professional standard of workmanship and site conduct
Systems You May Work On:
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Conventional fire alarm systems
- Emergency lighting (if applicable)
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience installing fire alarm systems
- Experience with first fix, second fix and commissioning of fire alarm systems
- Strong understanding of fire alarm wiring, containment and device installation
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
- Good IT skills for digital commissioning and documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications:
- FIA or equivalent fire alarm training
- ECS / CSCS card
- IPAF or PASMA
- Experience with manufacturers such as Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, C‑Tec or similar
