We are looking for a QC Junior Laboratory Technician.
Position Purpose and Objective
The purpose of this role is to carry out Mechanical layup and testing for batch release analysis as required by the business to validate product conformance. Mechanical testing enables Syensqo to make critical decisions on product compliance to customer and internal specifications and industry standards. Mechanical testing plays a crucial role in understanding the behaviour and properties of our products under stress conditions. The role will also be responsible to ensure that a QC driven approach is employed driving high standards of test capability as well as low test variability.
Major Accountabilities
- Accountable for your own safety and ensuring that all HSE rules are followed and having the autonomy to counter unsafe behaviour.
- Carrying out all required layup and tests for Mechanical & In-process testing of resins, resin films and prepregs as a part of the QC Lab Team.
- Responsible for being a part of the collaborative team, led by the Quality Laboratory Manager, giving input into investigating Customer and internal concerns connected to the Test Lab.
- Working with the Quality Manager and Laboratory Manager to ensure compliance to all internal process documentation, standards, Customer standards and ensuring that you are working to this same high standard.
- Ensuring high levels of housekeeping (5S implemented) are maintained in the Test Lab.
Education
Minimum 1-3 years experience in Mechanical Testing or hold a BSc in a scientific field.
Experience
- In practical Mechanical testing; 1-3 years minimum experience in the use of LIMS, SAP, and various other PC based systems.
- Must have experience in communicating with and managing internal stakeholders.
- Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills verbally.
Specific Skills
- Excellent computer skills (working with Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Google).
- Experience in the use of LIMS, SAP, and various other PC based systems ideal but these can be trained if required.
- Excellent data analysis skill (JMP).
- Understanding testing capability (if no experience - this may be trained if required).
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

The UK annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is between GBP 30000 to GBP 35000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualification and internal equity and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range.
