A new exciting opportunity and position has opened up at Sydney House Chelsea : The Hotel General Assistant.
This position will support the day-to-day operation of the hotel by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest service across multiple departments.
The role requires flexibility, attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring the hotel operates efficiently and consistently delivers an excellent guest experience.
- Reception
- Interact with customers in a professional, friendly and confident manner.
- Develop relationships with regular guests to maximise sales opportunities and generate future business.
- Rooming Guests and Room Service - Escort all arriving guests to their rooms; assisting with luggage & delivery of bedroom requests - drinks and extra amenities
- Supporting the reception team with guest requests and checking in, providing regular break cover
- Concierge support – build and maintain a working knowledge of the local (Chelsea) area, including restaurants, landmarks and places of interest; provide helpful local info and recommendations and support with transportation and restaurant reservations.
- Housekeeping
- To clean and service the bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas as requested, to hotel standards.
- Support in pre arrival room inspections, ensuring room is ready for occupation and complete with welcome letters.
- Cleaning of building exterior and public areas including bin and service areas, hotel arrival area (internal & external); plant care through the property.
- Completion of minor maintenance tasks such as cleaning external lights and signage; replacing of lightbulbs; highlighting maintenance issues and other tasks as assigned by the general manager.
Ensuring the linen and supplies cupboards are well stocked and well maintained & organised.
- Food & Beverage
- Regular support with breakfast service, ensure tables are set up and ready for service.
- Maintaining high service standards within the restaurant.
- Complete daily beverage and crisp stock counts.
- Replenish beverages and glassware, including stock rotation and date checks.
- Keeping on top of restaurant housekeeping including but not exhaustive of dusty of bar bottles, mirrors and glassware; restaurant floor (swept & mopped), cutlery and crockery clean and ready for use
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO DO
- Flexibility to work early shifts starting at 7am, late shifts finishing at 9am and flexibility to work both.

- Assist other departments of the hotel wherever possible to deliver the best possible service
- Be a focal point for our guests during service
- Willing and able to be hands on and operational, focussing on guest service during key service times.

- Always immaculately groomed, an example to others.
- Is a good communicator, who loves engaging with our guests.
- Raise any issues or concerns with the General Manager
- Ensure all relevant statutory regulations are adhered to
