About the Role
Sybarite is seeking an experienced Senior Architect / Designer to join its London studio and work on large-scale luxury retail and mixed-use projects. The role will focus on architecture and base-build design across projects ranging from approximately 150,000 to 800,000 sqm, from Concept Design through to completion. Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will combine strong design thinking with technical expertise, taking responsibility for significant project packages while maintaining the integrity of the wider architectural vision.
About You
Design & Technical Delivery
- Lead architectural development across Concept Design, Schematic Design and Design Development.
- Take responsibility for significant architectural and design packages.
- Produce and coordinate tender and technical drawing packages.
- Review and annotate construction information produced by contractors and third parties.
- Develop material and finish specifications from concept through to delivery.
- Balance creative ambition with technical feasibility throughout the design process.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate architectural requirements with interiors, structural, MEP and specialist disciplines.
- Work closely with Associates and Directors to develop and maintain project vision and design intent.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and external project partners.
- Identify and resolve design and technical issues.
- Support the planning of project programmes, resources and workloads.
- Maintain quality and consistency across project outputs.
- Lead and mentor a small project team.
- Establish clear priorities and support delivery against project deadlines.
- Contribute confidently to client meetings, presentations and design reviews.
- Collaborate across architecture, interiors, installation and branding disciplines.
- Communicate design ideas effectively to different audiences and levels of stakeholder.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum eight years’ relevant professional experience.
- Strong experience delivering luxury retail or mixed-use projects internationally.
- Experience taking projects from concept through to completion.
- Experience producing tender, technical and coordinated drawing packages.
- Detailed knowledge of materials, finishes and construction.
- Experience working with subcontractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience within an international architecture or design practice.
